Chaim Chumash Level Maker

Chaim Chumash Level Maker v1.3
(Update 6/30/24)

With this tool you’ll be able to make, play and share your own Chaim Chumash levels!

This program is for Windows only, not Chromebooks or Apple computers. I’m sorry if that means you can’t use it, but please don’t ask me to make a web version. I’d like to someday, believe me!

If you want to ask questions about the level editor please read/comment on the Chaim Chumash Level Maker Documentation page. Any questions posted here I’ll respond to but will be deleted eventually to focus more on level making posts.

If you make a level share it in the comments section below.
Please be encouraging and supportive of each other! If you liked someone’s level tell them!
I want to allow anyone to be able to contribute to Chaim Chumash and take the best levels you make and put them in the game!
So all levels posted here are copyleft open to modify, copy, share, and redistribute freely.

Interface Tutorial. Read the Chaim Chumash Level Maker Documentation!
This tutorial shows you how to make the level delivery blocks. (Sorry about the audio quality I’ll do better next time!)

I’ll be updating this page in the future with video tutorials on how to make levels.

Hi, my name is Tally! I’m a talking Talmud AND a game developer!

It’s been almost 1 year since I joined Torah Games! It’s been so much fun, I love meeting fans of the website. People often ask me when is Chaim Chumash going to be finished?

The Original Game! Click to play!

Chaim Chumash is one of our oldest games, a platforming adventure where you learn the words of the Torah. While the game was unfinished, it captured the hearts of Torah Gamers across the world. Who never lost hope that one day someone would pick up the torch and finish the game.
This would be a daunting task, as for various reasons the original game’s code and art would have to be completely remade from scratch.
Well friends, after much effort I have done exactly that and made a brand new Chaim Chumash game.

Vocab System

The Game uses a elaborate system to introduce new words to the player, correct them when they make mistakes, record words they master, run reviews and even in the end scores them based on their performance!
If you want to know more about how the game teaches vocabulary words to the player check out Millim Flash Cards! They use the same system to introduce and teach words.

Millim Flash Cards

Millim Flash Cards v1

Choose a vocabulary list and start practicing!

Flash cards shows you vocabulary words and asks you to find the one with the matching translation.

If you get it wrong you can review your mistake.
Get a word right three times in a row and it will turn gold. You’ve mastered that word and won’t see it again for a while.

After you’ve mastered 6 words you’ll do a review check to see if you still remember them. Get a word wrong and it goes back to the learning deck, get it right and it gets stored away for later. Once you mastered all the words it’s time for a Finals!

The game will ask you to translate every word you have learned one final time and then give you a score at the end on how well you did.
